Our Ethical Sourcing Promise

Every leaf we sell passes through hands we know by name. Here's how we build relationships, not supply chains.

Our Ethical Sourcing Promise

When we started Himalayan Ritual Co., we made one non-negotiable decision: we would never buy from a broker we couldn't sit with over a cup of tea.

That principle has shaped everything. We travel to Ilam, Gulmi, and Jumla multiple times a year. We sit with farmers, share meals, and listen to what they need — not just what we want to buy.

Fair pricing isn't a marketing line for us. We pay 40-60% above commodity rates because we believe the people who grow the world's finest tea deserve to thrive, not just survive.

We pre-purchase each season's harvest, giving farmers financial certainty before a single leaf is picked. This means they can invest in their land, their families, and their futures.

Every batch is traceable to its origin farm. We publish farmer names, altitudes, and harvest dates because transparency isn't a feature — it's a responsibility.

Ethical sourcing isn't a programme we run. It's the only way we know how to do this.

Reported on the terraces of eastern Nepal. Every batch we sell is traceable to a named grower and harvest date, and dispatched within 24 hours from Bristol.
